MG TD TF 1500 - Jim Simpson
For those who knew him, longtime friend of the NAMMMR and Minnesota MG T Register, Jim Simpson, who spent his entire working life at MG, passed away at age 100 this past Sunday. Jim was our guest of honor at MG2001 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Rest in peace, my friend. I did not post this twice and cannot seem to remove the second post. |

Lew, is there any biographical information available for Jim? Great innings! Matthew. |

A couple of days ago, the (YouTube) "MG Cars Channel" posted a 1990 interview with Jim Simpson. Link to YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfPaRq9T8GE Link to MG Cars Channel: http://www.shelburnefilms.com/mg-cars-channel.html Lonnie TF7211 |

There is also a book by Brian Moylan entitled "The Story Behind the Octagon" which has a small piece about Jim. I was lucky enough to get Jim to sign my copy when he was here in 2001. If anyone is interested, I have a collection of his photos and papers which I scanned. He also let me have his original oil painting of the works fire truck painted by Ron Willis. http://www.chicagolandmgclub.com/library/books/story_behind_the_octagon.html |
