MG TD TF 1500 - LED Turn signal buzzer
All of the lights on my car are LEDs except the fog lights. The turn signals work fine. But I had problems when hooking up a buzzer. The buzzer works but when the turn signal shuts off the buzzer continues to buzz slower and slower finally falling off to pathetic whine. I assume that has something to do with the fact that the turn signal relay is for LEDs. Has anyone hooked up a buzzer to LED turn signals? Tim TD12524 |

I use LED tail lamps (only) in all my MGs and two use a buzzer as an audible indicator. I do not have any such problem. I assume you mean you use an electronic flasher, not a turn signal relay. If so, try using the Tridon EL13 flasher. I have had the best luck with these in conjunction with my LED light board inserts. |

Lew, I'm using what looks like the traditional round turn signal relay but it is designated for LEDs. It has a separate ground wire in addition to the three wiring spades. The housing is plastic. It looks like the Tridon EL13 but with a separate ground wire. The buzzer is a 12 volt two wire device from Radio Shack. Tim |

Usually none of the round can flashers are fully electronic. Find a square can one and try again. |

Will do. Thanks. |

The round can "electronic" ones often use a capacitor to help trigger the mechanical relay. When they are shut off, the capacitor can drain back into the load. Not a problem with the LEDs, but the buzzer may be getting the drain off, thus sounding and fading away. |

Lew, thats pretty much what I thought. Of course I couldn't have explained it as well as you did. Tim TD12524 |
