MG TD TF 1500 - Lost - Rajah spark plug connector
As I get closer to preparing my 51TD for its first start in a year, I am very annoyed to discover I've lost two items since the teardown: the coil connector (I think it just fit loosely into the coil and had a top that the plug slid over) and ONE rajah plug end... the screw in metal piece. I don't suppose anyone has one kicking around they'd be willing to part with? Otherwise I have to buy a new set from Butch's online store... (http://www.swapsellit.com/Accessories.html) ![]() |

I ordered a single one off ebay :( Can't start the car till it arrives! |

Geoffrey - the plug end you picture does not seem to be the correct on for a TD - not the type I have understood to be correct. The Champion type was like this I believe.

It is my understanding also that the Champion type is correct. That is what is on my TF, anyway. |

Re the spark plugs. The very rare original Champion on the left & the replacement on the right. Cheers Peter TD 5801 ![]() |

Peter, mine are like the one on the left. Thanks for confirming. Larry TF2689 YB0944 |

Hi all, I installed these plugs and wires not because they are correct (not sure I've ever seen real period correct plugs for a TD) but because they are of the highest quality and popular with many forum members with years of experience. My aftermarket 60's plug set needed replacement, and I wanted an improvement. I was not looking for period accuracy, I was looking for quality, reliability and the best materials. The fact that they were "sort of" retro was a nice plus, but not critical. |
