MG TD TF 1500 - Lucas voltage regulator RB 106/2

I am trying to adjust the later (1953 TD) RB 106/2 voltage regulator. The only information that comes up is for the earlier version. The earlier version is hard (for me) to apply to the later version that I have! Does any one here know how to do this?
TIA

Len, goggle The Octagon Car Club, go into files, there is Lucas information there.

Thank you, Len and Chris. Your posts have alerted me to that Lucas document. I have been helping a friend with his TF and that document will be of great use when we get to the job of solving his no-charge issue.

In case it is of any help I have attached photos of some regulators. RB106/1 regulators are on the left and RB106/2 regulators are on the right in each photo. They look identical externally, so I guess the tests of circuits to connections will be the same for both. It is the internals which look different. I am hoping we don't have to play with internals.

Incidentally, I notice that the document is stamped "Hannan Brothers, Franklin Street, Adelaide". That is less than three miles from where I live! Unfortunately, the building has been replaced by another, which now houses lawyers and a car park!

Cheers, from South Australia,

I have a file in my computer called lucas_generator_and_control_box_tests2.pdf
that handles the RB 106/2 control box, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to make it linkable.
Frustrating. Bud

Bud: Send me the link or tell me what web page the file is on and I can probably get a link for it.

I poked around the site but could not find it easily.

Len,

Have a look at this document. It explains the differences between the RB106/1 and RB106/2 on page 13.

Further on down to pages 16 thru 18, you will find setting and adjustment details for these and other models.

Actually, I created it after not having done a webpage for a very long time. Bud(@89)

Good job Bud. That is the same file I posted up at the top. :-)
