MG TD TF 1500 - MG TD left rear fender replacement?
Good day to all, I have an opinion question. I have stripped the fenders on my TD and the left rear is pretty rough. I realize that a good body man can fix just about anything, but I am doing most of the restoration myself and this just looks beyond my hammer and dolly capabilities. In addition, it has a couple of terrible welds. It had a mountain of bondo on it. What do you think? Should I just punt and look for a better fender to start with? Any advice is helpful, Jim Smith TD17744 ![]() ![]() |

I'm no body man, but I think that's the worst panel I've ever seen. If you can source a better one, I would. I can't imagine that can be returned to a non-bondo filled panel without a LOT of expense. |

The right rear fender on my TF looked a lot like that and I replaced it with a nice one from Hugh Pite in Canada. I would always check with Hugh first if he has what you need he's very fair on his prices and he ships as soon as he gets an order. Excellent to deal with! PJ |

I probably have an early TD rear fender. If I remember correctly it is in excellent condition. Please send me an email message if you are still looking. Cheers, Hugh Pite |
