Good job. I will never see my car roll over (mileage) again. Saw two of them before and was half way to another and the gauge got rebuilt, so I am in the low 20k's now. |

Ditto on Congratulations!! Glad to see you in the 100,000 mile club! My TD has 130,000 Miles and counting |

I have owned my TD for 51 years, and all those years, the odometer never worked. Now it works and is at zero, so it will be some time for me. |

Nice job Mort. I kn ow what it is to drive lottsa miles in a T-Series.
Took delivery of my new TF 4592 on June 16, 1954. Once it was broken-in, I drove to Elkhart, Wisc for some racing. The next year it was Pebble Beach - long before the Interstate system. Drive through Death Valley was indeed, a story in itself. My wee TF has been to all four corners of North America. The only missing one was a trip to Tuktoyaktuk NWT - https://tuktoyaktuk.ca/. I had one planned for the summer of 1957, but learned that the road around the north side of Lake Superior was under construction and the Dempster Highway north of Inuvik was not recommended (in fact, discouraged). So still in my early 20s, my plans to dip my TF in Canada 3 oceans never came to bear. The engine has been rebuilt 5 times, the transmission - twice, the diff once, when I installed the 4.3 CWP. The speedometer has gone around 3 times and somewhere in all of that, it was rebuilt. Its done at least 350,000 miles. Basically, everything has been replaced except the paint!! A long trip today, it to the British Invasion in Stowe, Vt (150 Kms). After 70 years of ownership, a great car - still enjoying at 92. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. ![]() |

Gord - I have just read your post in awe. Fantastic effort and using your car as it should be used. The trailer queens should read this. We have a similar story with our elan, motorkhanas, racing, touring, shopping trolley, school runs, etc. only one engine rebuild so far but not covered the distance you have, has only just flipped over for the first time. Have had the car for 48 years -so far willy |
