MG TD TF 1500 - Mirror bracket
I was looking for a solution to fit the beautiful wing mirrors on the winscreen pillars.
I had some constraints : - Look period - No additionnal drill - to let the widscreen free for up and down position as before. I made this special bracket out of a 2 mm thick stainess steel sheet. Well polished, it shines like chrome. Remove the washer from the original fitting of the pivot and replace by the bracket. It is also possible to bend a little bit the upper end to clear the pillar from the mirror (left side for RHD). The thickness of the bracket does not prevent the door to close with the side screen. Neat solution, if a little unconventional. In some ways better than on the wings / fenders (as I have them), as on the windscreen they are less likely to be knocked out of position. Dave H |

easier on readers to add multiple pictures to 1 post rather than 3 separate posts fyi. Just sayin'... |

Tres bonne Laurent! I shall be making a copy as soon as I get back to Aus. (Metric is good!) Chris |

MOSS sells something similar, in chrome. I like them a lot, just pivot the Mirror Stalk 90 degrees when the Windscreen is flat. Mike TF-8257 ![]() |

I put a pair of the Moss mirrors on the TF and really like them. They can even be used with the screen down. PJ

Because the door screens would hit the mirror when opening the door, I made a modified design to move the mirror 1 inch forward, now the mirrors don't get touched when opening the doors with the side screens on. One on the right is the one that comes with the mirrors. PJ![]() |
