MG TD TF 1500 - Mount Brooklands screens on TD
Looking to mount Brooklands screens on my TD and do so without interfering with folding the windshield. Not sure if I should put the brackets with pin facing forward or back. Any dimensions would be appreciated. We have owned the car for over 57 years and I hate to start doing bodywork at this point. |

Most screens I've seen on TDs mount on the dash near the top of each scuttle hump. In that position, they will be well clear of the windscreen. |

Here is how I mounted them on my TF, pins forward. I suspect a TD would be similar.

If it helps Mark. This is where I mounted mine on my 53 TD. Have some one help you to sight across the scuttle when you are marking the plinths up for drilling - to make sure the screens are in line with each other. I was alone and it really harder. I did check the "Brooklands" name was centered on the scuttle hump. Drop the wind screen to check the clearance to the frame before drilling :) Mine are a tad tight but clear with screen with about an I/8" Never had an issue with them. Rod ![]() |

You can find some more suggestions in the thread “Installing Brooklands Racing Screens” I have a collection of several photos illustrating some different options: pins forward, pins backwards or even screens bolted on the windscreen frame. Can send them to you by email, even though most of them have been published in this forum.. Jesús |
