MG TD TF 1500 - My TF 4887

Well it looks OK from about 10 feet away, even good some say, but...some of the panels don't quite fit correctly, but..it doesn't have all the right nuts 'n' bolts, but...it rattles a little bit, but...it was painted over a period of almost 8 years, different seasons and conditions, the colour is a bit off depending on how you look at it, but....when I drive it on the open roads where I live, top off, listening to the burble of the exhaust.....I LOVE IT!

Nice one Don. The Ivory looks great! Fancy a trip up to Sydney in November for the Tech Day? :-) Cheers

Darn fine looking car Don. I would be proud to own it and drive it as is.
Try this MOTTO
USE/ENJOY/BUT PRESERVE.
Please do not change the sequence.
I was driving a real beauty 1955 TF-1500 and always was afraid to hurt it. As luck would have it I was offered a 1954-TF/1250 that appeared threadbare in all aspects. I decided to use it as a daily driver and do only basic maintenance.62000 miles later I had to remove the head and replace valve seats that were worn because of unleaded fuels.
They are an awful lot tougher than some people give them credit.

Don---congrats.
I'd be more than happy to toddle down to Goolwa beach for a drive in that fine machine
Glad you got it sorted and are enjoying it

Because I've had the sump off a few times due to a faulty set of rings I have now developed an oil leak, well not me, but the car.

Peter, if I drove over to Sydney at the moment I would leave an oil trail so thick I would be able to find my way back again.

Willy, if there is one place I'd love to drive it would be Tasmania, I've heard the scenery is magnificent.

Very observant Christopher but you answered in the wrong post. A late winter's day in South Oz. (with three running board strips)

Don
Thanks, I think you have solved a little problem for me -I have a salt/pepper tonneau cover that I've offered up to both TC-TD, no go, but looking at your pic. I think it could be TF- Now I will find a TF to try it on
