MG TD TF 1500 - New MG T Supercharger
Gentlemen, Here is a quick picture of my latest MG T supercharger. In the past I was using a generic off-the-shelf supercharger modified for the specific MG XPAG and XPEG applications. Now I have built all my own MGT specific castings featuring a “MG” cast into the side of the main housing. As before they feature the Eaton M45 rotor group as used by BMW, Mercedes, Lotus and others. I have simplified the housing deleting previous unused and unnecessary mounting points and bypass passages etc. to give the “blower” a more vintage look and improved airflow. This new supercharger will be available domestically from Tom Lange at MGT Repair (mgtrepair dot net) and internationally from myself directly. Terry/Tom, I find the best way to fit and remove your previous supercharger on a TF is to fit the manifold first, then attach the blower. Saves having to expand the width of the car by several inches. However, because the lower attaching screws line up perfectly with the manifold studs, it's a bit fiddly to get them in - I use hex head bolts there. Is the spacing different on the new blower, to give better access? If so, I'd recommend this approach to any TF owners. David |
