MG TD TF 1500 - Oil line union
I need a union for the oil pressure line , I have the fittings to make one but I am worried it may have some detrimental effect on the pressure gauge as it will be straight through without any restriction, anyone shed some light on this for me. My new/ original type unit broke at the threads Thanks |

George, the one on my TF is straight through, no restrictions. PJ |

Thanks mate |

George, the pressure gauge is strictly sensitive to the pressure applied to it. No flow is necessary. The size of the fitting makes no difference. One of those old laws of Physics. Bud |

The gauge has a restrictor built into it. Most gauges have this to prevent rapid fluctuations wrecking the Bourden tube movement inside. Some machinery I have worked on had piston type oil pumps and even then we had to choke the gauge line with the shut off cocks to stop the needle being a blur. Ray TF 2884 |

If somebody has an early MGB or an MGA parts car they have the same fitting. |
