MG TD TF 1500 - OT Ebay & Mozilla Firefox

Anybody else having trouble accessing Ebay using Firefox? My PC just freezes & tells me that Adobe has crashed. No amount of reinstalling solves the problem. I've looked on a number of suggested sites all of whom tell me that Mozilla & Adobe are incompatible. This has been going on for months & even the PC nerds don't have a solution. I have to use IE now to access Ebay & Mozilla for Gumtree as it doesn't like IE. TRPMO! Cheers

Shouldn't be a problem. Uninstall Firefox, update Adobe Flash Player and reinstall Firefox.

I have been using Firefox and Adobe on eBay for years, more than 7, without any issue.
That's on a Dell SC 400 with, first Win 2000 and later Win XP.
I have not had an issue with Adobe but it should be installed as an "add on" to Firefox.

Top be specific, we're talking about Flash Player here. Adobe has many products, but I can't think of any others that would be displayed on an eBay page. When you install Flash Player, it should install any needed plug-ins for you. If not, you can add it to Firefox from within the Firefox settings. You should definitely upgrade Flash Player as a whole, not just the browser add-on. And when you do, uncheck the McAffee software option. You don't need it and it will just slow things down.

Thanks Steve. Much of this is Greek to me so I'll see if I can get my son to have another go at this, though I'm pretty sure he has done all that has been suggested above. The problem only began when I recently upgraded to Windows 10. Cheers

I understand that there are a few issues with Windows 10 and not all the same issue on different computers. Reason I'm staying with 8.1 for now. I'll wait until you guys sort out all the issues, then I'll jump in when you have them all fixed. PJ

Peter,

Browser debates are much like our extended threads on oil pressure and DOT 4 v. DOT5 brake fluid.

I would recommend dumping both Mozilla and IE and switching to Google Chrome. I've been very satisfied with it for a long time on both Windows and OS X

If you are running a Linux system, you may also want to consider Opera.

I should also mention that flash is disabled by default in the newer versions of Firefox. However there is usually a box at the top of each tab asking you if you want to enable it on that tab or page.

There is an effort going on to phase out Flash but it won't happen any time soon. It works fine on the latest Firefox, but if your Flash is an out of date version then Firefox will automatically disable it and when Flash is needed, will ask you if you want to run it on a particular page. Just update Flash and it will run as normal. It's a security thing.

In my opinion, most browsers are getting really invasive but Mozilla products are still the way it should be... with the power in the user's hands and privacy respected.

As fro Windows 10, well, I'm still running 7. Best home computing OS I've ever used, and I've used a LOT!

CP/M, DOS(various versions), Basic, Machine, Win3.x,NT,2K,95,98,98SE,ME,Mobile(various),XP,7,7N,8, MAC-OS(various) and whatever else I can't remember! Oh yeah, the punch card machine by the 3-story server. ;)

My son has now deleted Adobe altogether but my PC is still freezing using Mozilla when I'm on Ebay. I'm now using Mozilla just for this forum & IE to access Ebay. As I said earlier I don't understand much of what has been posted above. Cheers

Uninstall Windows 10,as usual when Mr Gates releases something to increase his bank balance is not fully Beta tested and is unstable.

Best advice is to return to Win7, at present it is still being supported and appears to have the bugs removed. For home user use it will do everything that you are ever likely to need. Totally Mozilla and Adobe compatible.
