MG TD TF 1500 - Passenger footrest on a TF
Could some kind person please send me a sketch with the dimensions of the passenger footrest. It will be too expensive to import one and they look easy to make. The one from my car is missing so I do not have a sample to copy. This only became apparent when I was checking on replacing my carpets with a Moss set. Thanks in anticipation. Paul. TF9835 |

They cost just $46 from Kilmartin in Victoria. I'm a dead set "do it yourselfer" but I couldn't knock one together for that. The quality is terrific. Would the shipping be all that exorbitant from Victoria to NZ? Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Thanks Peter. I'll send them an enquiry. It is always the shipping that seems to cost! |

Paul -- I have a TF footrest that I will not use and you are welcome to it at no cost, except for the cost of mailing. I have no idea what the mailing cost would be, but could find out for you in the next couple of days. The footrest has been powder coated; which I had done when I thought I was going to put it back in the TF. I have attached three photos. Let me know if this will work for you. John ![]() |

That is a very generous offer John. If it is not too much trouble then I would appreciate you checking the cost of postage. Is the face that the passenger's feet sit on normally dished? I have no idea what to expect. Thanks. Paul |

Paul -- You have email. John |

Wow John! Someone must have really hit the brakes for a passenger to bend one like that! Who says T Series brakes are no good!? Paul, that panel should be flat on both the upper and inclined planes. |

Here's an image of a TD footrest, showing the view from the underside. It's pretty obvious that the stamped cross areas are to prevent that sort of bending. Bud

If anyone has a footwell that fits a TD (not sure if there is a difference) in this or worse condition I would be interested, I would like to use it as a model to make a storage compartment, as described in a past thread. Email at geoffreybaker@cox.net |

That could be easily straightened out. Someone had to put a lot of pressure on it to bend it that much, 7 footer maybe! LOL. PJ |
