MG TD TF 1500 - Pattern for heat shield

Does anyone have a pattern for a behind the carbs heat shield? I can make my own, simple enough, but it'd be swell to have it pre-made before pulling parts.

One of the wife's aluminum cookie sheets is making the ultimate sacrifice.

MAndrus,

My heat shield that came on my first TD back in 1964 was made of thin steel and had two lengths of webbing riveted to the back side facing the manifold. It was slightly bent in the center line and the corners were also bent back slightly to assist in getting hot air away from the carb bowls.

If you email me I can send you the set of Pictures
I have on file.

Dave DuBiose posted on his web page under "T-Series Car Heat Shield" info on a Mini heat shield you can buy that also looked good but I have no experience with that.

Rod, the pic and that article are close enough to get me started, thanks.

Mitchell,
This is one I bought from Brown & Gammons. It is stamped from material similar to a Manifold Gasket. Two pieces of Steel with a Fiber Core of some sort.
It measures about 7 1/2" x 15". Flat with one bend out...then down. Then a small angle bend at the Front. Pretty simple really.

As I indicated before, I installed Barrie Jones heat shield and really like it. Made of stainless steel, it not only is functional but looks very nice. PJ

Paul ,
Is that for 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" Carbs? The TD may also be different than the TF - Not sure?

MAndrus,
These are the plan views if it helps you? You can also see the webbing riveted to the Back side.

Rod, my heat shield is for 1 1/2 inch carbs. I think it would only be a matter of punching in a 1 1/4 inch hole instead of an 1 1/2, so maybe Barrie would do it that way, only he cold give that answer. PJ

I think he does offer alternative versions. Thay are Laser cut.
