MG TD TF 1500 - Pedal box cover
Another example of shade tree mechanical work on my TD: a brass pedal box cover, homemade, poorly sized, with assorted fixin's to hold it in place.

Whatever works. If I remember correctly (becoming more an more suspect), the pedal boxes for the right hand drive cars don't have any cover at all. Cheers - Dave |

Not sure that's correct Dave as I've seen quite a few here & they do have provision for the cover, 3 tapped holes & a stud. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Here's my drawing of the cover if anybody needs to make one. Mine was missing. Regards Declan ![]() |

Cut it out Dave D! Of course RHD TFs and TDs have a Pedal Box Cover. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

Thanks Declan, I had already traced an outline from the torn gasket paper remaining ... this is better :) |

My RHD TD does have a steel cover. I strongly suspect that they are interchangeable with either LHD or RHD. |

The A/S catalog shows one part number, 063-062 for TD & TF, Factory #126966. Bud |

For anyone wanting to use Declan's drawing as a template, I scaled it to 109.5 percent to match it to actual millimeters and then printed it and checked it against my shade-tree mechanic's work... looks much better! Then I just used it to mark the punch holes and make the cuts... nice and easy. Thanks again to Declan. |

I can send it in dwg or dxf format where it can be printed off in scale 1:1. Regards Declan |

Already done, Declan, I thought of asking, but then I figured, it will only take me 60 seconds to get this one to a useable format... |
Geoffrey M Baker |
For the DIY's how thick was the original sheet metal? Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

I just finished installing mine (and the clutch stop bolt mod). Using Declans' drawing it was a nice fit, much better than the oversized piece of banged up brass the PO has in place. I just used some 12 or 14 gauge plate I had lying around, a bit overkill I think! |

Next; once I get the engine settled in I want to revisit the pedal box and build a nice gaiter for the front clutch rod. I know there are some nice ones out there (Declan in Germany has a very nice product) but I think I can make one using a universal firewall boot and some aluminum stock... |
