MG TD TF 1500 - Pedal Box Hole

Was there ever a factory plug for this hole in the bottom of the pedal box? I understand that Declan Burns has them, but I don't have his contact information. PJ

No, but I found a big rubber plug at a hardware store, and it fits fine.

I'm sure there are many on-line also.

Declan does have the plug and a gaiter for the rod. However I received a message from his partner that he is in hospital or was as of the 24th.

Is the diameter the same as the hole above on the footwell? If so you could use the plug.

The box opening is much larger.

I wonder about the need for putting a plug in that hole. I just took my car apart and after 15 years, there was little dirt in the box.

Keeping the dust and grit away from the shaft and bushings would be good preventative maintenance I believe.

Paul what about a sheet metal cap with the fingers as used to plug holes in the Arnolt heater for example. They come in many sizes. Grainger may be a source for them.
