MG TD TF 1500 - Photo of running board to rear fender
On my 53 TD there is noting but a bold holding the rear of the running board to the rear fender on one side. On the other side there is what looks like a round rubber grommet/spacer between the running board and rear fender. Is that correct? Is there just the grommet or is there an additional rubber strip> I ask this because the image on the Abingdon Spares web site is not very clear and it looks like there may be both a grommet and a strip. Thanks Simon, Troy Il |

I had the same question when putting my running boards on. There is just the single bolt and a round rubber washer/grommet. Tim TD12524 |

You can buy the Moss part number 281-258 which is nice and OK. It also fits between the rear fender and the chassis bracket.Buy four pieces. Laurent. |

laurent, it appears there are no parts at Moss with part number 281-258. Would that be Moss Europe? Thanks Tim |

Thanks very much, I wanted to be sure before purchasing the wrong part. |

Sorry, the part does exist. When I ran just the part number search it returned with no such product. But when I looked at the body fitting diagram for the TD it did show 281-258. that is the correct part. Sorry for the confusion. Tim |

This is my 53 TD You do want a nice gap here to stop crud collecting and causing rust. Nut and bolt with rubber grommet Rod ![]() |
