MG TD TF 1500 - Picture of gearbox inspection cover - 51TD
Could someone please post a photo of what the gearbox inspection cover is supposed to look like? Mine looks like a handmade job... thanks! |

I believe it's on Dave Braun's site. |

Sorry, I meant the inspection cover on the transmission cover "snug" ... I checked Dave B's site but could not see it. Here's a photo of mine... does the inspection cover look correct? ![]() |

Yep...looks correct Geoffrey...normally covered with carpet...you can just see this one in front of the carnk pulley.

+1 on that The cover is shaped to fit the curve of the tyranny cover at an angle - with sufficient room for the felt sound proofing and carpet. This is from my TD. Rod ![]() |

My cover appears to be made from stitched vinyl, not metal... |

Must admit Geoff, Your Tranny cover looks a tad strange? Like it has been in an accident or something? I note mine is not rolled down around the edges of the top opening and the back of yours looks really bent? Also I am not sure why there is a patch on the far side? The inspection cover itself on mine is metal and shaped to mirror the curve of the bottom cover. It is mounted on an angle to cover the two holes. The smaller one being for the dip stick. Rod ![]() |
