MG TD TF 1500 - Question for pre TD 1250 owners
The owner of the TD1250 had a new battery box fabricated a few years back due to corrosion near the top of the box. He insists that the fabricator duplicated the box as it was originally including all of the holes. Problem is there are not any holes for the battery wood piece. So If you have an early TD that hasn't had any metal work done on the box, would you confirm that has or doesn't have the holes drilled for the wooden tray. Thank you. ![]() ![]() |

I have never done the battery box on an early TD, I suspect it is the same as the later ones, with a 1/4” piece of plywood and a wooden strip at each end. I believe there are four holes, one at each corner with mounting screws.

Mine (4139) only had holes in the front to bolt the wood tray down. I can't say what the very early TD's did. As we know, the real early ones had some differences. |
