MG TD TF 1500 - Rear Springs
I'm putting my rear springs together after powdercoating. Any thoughts on coatings between the individual springs? I have the rubber. |

My springs were painted and coated with teflon spray before re-assembly. And use nylatron spacers for the springs, not rubber. Rgds, Mike |

Bill on my car each leaf had a dimple punched into the edge of the spring, with two dimples on the other set. I only discovered this after sand blasting. This was presumably to act as a guide to assembly. I & others here have found the assembled eye to eye measurement to be critical. Overly thick inter-leaf rubbers will alter the camber on reassembly, so much so that panel damage will occur if/when the rear shackle springs up. Take care! Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

I greased the leaves on assembly and bound each spring with friction tape. Beautifully smooth ride. Nylatron spacers sound like a good idea - rubber spacers don't seem to last long. David |
