MG TD TF 1500 - Recognize Front Wheel Cylinders?
I just removed the front wheel cylinders for a brake job, and have never seen this type before, with the seal ON the bronze piston. All 4 were well and truly stuck, so they seem to be no improvement over stock. Anyone recognize them? Tom Lange MGT Repair ![]() |

I have also this kind of cylinder on mine (originaly RHD from UK). I don't know if they are from the factory or after market. They stick equally. Laurent. |

The always-knowldegable Steve Baker in the UK tells me that these are made by C and C in Holland (hence the C C cast on the cylinders). Tom Lange MGT Repair |

I have same type bought from Abingdon Spares years ago when no other new ones were available. I thought it was German? I'll look when I get home. George |

The outer piston seal design a great idea, but the rubber/plastic part is really thin and cheesy on this one dated 7/03. Proper rubber would have worked better. I did note that front cylinders were between $75 and $80 EACH in late 90s/early 2000s! George
