MG TD TF 1500 - Red for Grille Slats - TD
I just ordered the red Moss interior kit for my Ivory TD restoration. I want to paint the grille slats the interior color. Is there a rattle can option out there that is a close match? I've looked through the archives and have found suggestions for the tan interior, but not the red. |

May I suggest that since you also need to paint the bolts that attach the spare tire and run through the rear top rail, you might be better with a can and a brush. Take a piece of extra material to your local paint store, I use Benjamin Moor, and have them match a quart. About $20 Jim B. |

After buying my Moss kit and comparing it to the un oxidized areas of my original Rexine door panels ie. under the door latches, I found the Moss Interior to be much darker. The original paint on my slats is a much lighter color that matched the Rexine more closely. I don't have a suggestion for a color to match the Moss unless maybe the dark red engine paint with a flattening agent sprayed over it and frankly I don't know if that would even look good. For now I will leave my originals as they are... Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |

I went to the local hardware and found a burgundy colour paint that was a very close match to the Moss red (more cranberry) interior colour. ... CR |

Have you thought abut powder coat? Regards, tom |

I'm not a fan of powder coating. I had my chassis powder coated and I wished I hadn't. It is too thick and you can't easily repair it or finish it. |
