MG TD TF 1500 - Replacement Gas Tank
Has anyone run into an issue with the original gas cap not fitting a replacement stainless steel gas tank from Moss Motors? Solution? |

have you contacted Moss??? |

Did you read the pdf on the Moss site about the tanks? They make it very clear there may be a lot of issues which require fixing. If you haven’t seen that, read. George |

I recall a recent thread dealing with this. I think they welded the holes and re-drilled? But not exactly sure what problem is. Maybe some pictures? Dig around in the archives here and on the mgcars.org board. George |

Not that many people making these tanks, I only know of 2, if the original cap doesn't fit then you're going to have to either buy a cap that fits, possibly from the tank manufacture or remove what's on the new tank and replace it with an original spout. I'm sure Moss will take the tank back if you want. As George said, Moss said there could be some issues with these tanks, that's being pretty much upfront. JMHO. PJ |

They are made by hand using basic tooling. As far as I know its SportsCar Metalworks, who will also sell direct. A full range of body panels are also available, and a certain amount of fettling to fit. Considering the cost, you won't do any better. Dave H |
