MG TD TF 1500 - Rocker cover nut spanner
We 3D printed a new plastic nut spanner to fit the rocker cover on XPAG engines. It's a nice fit. Here's a screen shot. Regards Declan ![]() |

Great idea. If the price isn't astronomical I'll take one. Tim |

Tim, I think 10€ plus 3.70€ International worldwide postage would be a fair price. Regards Declan |

So do I. You have email. Tim |

Declan, Are there prospects that you will be returning to clutch rod supply any time in the future? Thanks. Peter |

Peter, I intend to start another batch of clutch linkages later this week. Regards Declan |

Just curious, what's wrong with the channel lock pliers I've used before? |

Take care not to tighten those nuts to much... A thick gasket, flat surfaces and hand tighten should be enough.Do not warp the cover... Laurent. |

ed, my 53 TD came with rocker cover nuts with the hand grip area almost worn smooth from being taken on and off with some sort of pliers. Laurent is correct, hand tight should be sufficient. But if you have ever tried to remove the nuts to adjust the valves when the engine is hot you know that hand pressure often isn't enough. Tim |

Declan, I believe the last time we communicated you had come up with an arrangement including a new lever to mount on the sump pivot. Are you including that full setup? Mine is RHD. Thanks. Peter |

Respectful as I am of Declan's superb engineering skills, this feels like a solution in search of a problem. Many cork valve cover gaskets have been ruined by tightening these nuts too much; a cloth in the hand will loosen even the most stubborn of nuts. There are also supposed to be fiber washers under these nuts, the lack of which does cause small mleaks. Tom Lange MGT Repair |

Peter, I assume you are referring to my new needle bearing clutch lever as shown in the photo. Yes I can include it. My intentions are to use this as standard as it makes installation on RHD a lot easier. Regards Declan ![]() |

Tom, not that I'll use it for it's intended purpose, I want one for it's uniqueness. I have a few unusual tools and get a kick out of some of the guys trying to figure out what they are. Of course, someone with arthritis in the fingers would welcome a tool like this! I figure, tightening a nut properly with this tool would only take a little common sense. I guess I would have to agree though, that there are some folks out there who might come up a little short in that department! LOL! PJ |

Declan, let me know when you are set to ship the set for RHD. Thanks, Peter |

Peter, The next batch of clutch linkages will be finished over the weekend. I sent you a PM this morning. Regards Declan |
