MG TD TF 1500 - Routing Starter switch to starter Cable
I got new, proper cables, from RI wiring. How does the cable from the switch to the starter run? I have it clamped to the lower stay but looking at the The original MGTD site it does not seem to do that, However I can't really see how it goes. Is it clamped to anything or just floating? If clamped what is holding it? the standard brass wraps? Thanks Jim B. |

Mine was just floating. I'd be very surprised if it isn't the original configuration. Note that the rubber pieces on the switch end of the cable are not the same as the rubber boots currently supplied by Moss. Joe ![]() |

I think it just goes straight, no attachment to anything. Peter |

Thanks a lot. I will re-adjust mine to look like your photo. Jim B. |

I think having the rubber boots on the switch terminals is important. While wrenching on the nearby rear carburetor the end of the wrench could touch the terminal and the result could be quite exciting. |

Joes picture is correct with one exception: The cable from the battery goes to that side and the cable to the starter is on the outside connector. |

Did not notice that Chris, but I do have mine on the correct terminal. Yes I amusing the rubber connector covered, I have made sparks in that area. I had a 1984 vintage one there but it rotted away. It was purchased about 2984 but only installed about 2015. It was different than the ones I just got from Abingdon. They have more room for the screw terminal to stick out. Picture will come later.
