MG TD TF 1500 - Running Board Chrome Strip Fasteners TF
I am short about ten of the original fasteners (broke during removal) for the Running Board chrome strips. Since the car has most all of its original fasteners I'm hoping some one out there might have ten to offer up for sale. If not I could make them, I guess. What British bolt size are these? Thank you, Dan |

If you don't find originals, the MGB cockpit rear trim attaching stud is very close. Moss 226-660 stud plate. The threaded stud is slightly longer and, of course, is SAE thread. When installed, the difference is not noticeable. The same stud plate is available from Victoria British as a "kit" which saves some money as the kit includes the nuts. Regards, John |

I am going to use the ones off the MGB for the strips on Bill's TF. I tested one quite a while back. I'll have to grind down two sides slightly to make them fit but I think they will work better than the spring jobs Moss sells now. Even though they don't list them for the running board strips, they are the same ones they sell for the bonnet side trim and used to sell for the running board strips. |

LaVerne, Are the "Bs" British thread? I have the original nuts so if the thread is the same I could make them work. I would like for everything to match and be as correct as possible. Thanks, Dan |

Dan I think this is the one. If so, I have 6 or 7 with nuts. You can have them. I preferred new ones. Tom '54 TF ![]() |

Tom, I sent you a PM Thank you, Dan |

The gap the screwed studs slide in is 6.7m/m wide. M6 button head, stainless bolts are readily, and cheaply, available and it is very easy to chamfer the edges of the heads so they slide in the strips. There will be no more rust. Jan T |
