MG TD TF 1500 - Seal Cutter

Does anyone have plans for a simple cutter for the front crank seal mod? Or better yet know anyone who sells one?
Steve Simmons

Steve
Green in "TCs Forever-More!" (pg 75) writes about the seal problem and a simple hand cutter developed by John Bowles of Perth, WA, Aust.

The MG T Type Owner and Restorer Club in 2022 published an article by Michael Sherrell on a cutter design. I am about to get a cutter made by a local machining shop using Mikes design. The shop just needs me to supply a cutting tool which Mike has suggested "just a sharpened broken drill bit" will do as a cutter.

As the article is copyrighted I will not attach it. However, once I get the cutter made I will be able to publish a photo of my cutter.

Horst Wendling in Leverkusen has a nice design.

A couple of years ago site member in the USA was loaning out a cutter.
It make life much easier to remove the old seal and just press in a new one. I use Viton seals on to a polished pulley.

The big advantage is when you need to pull the timing cover. You can't do it with the oil pan in place if running a modern lip seal. Doing this mod allows you to leave the pan in place.

Thanks, I've seen numerous threads on this but they mostly discuss doing it rather than giving actual plans for the cutter. I can design and make one but I was hoping to save time using existing plans or just buying one already done.
