MG TD TF 1500 - Seat Adjuster Spring
I have just finished upholstering the seats for my TF. Unfortunately, I cannot install them because of missing springs for the seat adjusters. Many years ago I sent the entire seat adjuster assemblies to a plater to be cadmium plated, but did not notice the springs missing until this year. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have two of the springs available? From my research these springs were used on the seat adjusters of the TD, TF, and MGA. Someone suggested the MGB might use the same spring but I have not confirmed this. Hoping someone can help, best regards, John |

Go to NAPA check out their springs. Once you have a pic of one, you can find a couple there. |

I've seen professionals do a worse job. You can do my seats any time. Congratulations, David. |

John did you make them from scratch or did you buy the covers? Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Home Depot stocks a number of springs similar to those shown - that is with the long straight sections. |

Peter, it was a Moss kit that I purchased many years ago. I was very satisfied with the quality and fit. DavePro, every time I have paid a professional, I have been disappointed. I have found I can do the work myself with better results. Of course, my work takes weeks and a Professional wants to finish the job in hours. I study pictures of original cars to guide me, most of which come from this Forum. Regards, John |
