MG TD TF 1500 - seat hinge
Does someone have a picture of the hinge on the back of the seat bottom? I am looking for the hole pattern. I took mine off today and there are two countersunk holes and two flat holes. I am thinking the flat ones were added by the PO (the seat appears to have been rebuilt), but I don't want to weld them until I confirm they should not be there. ![]() |

Possibly added new holes to move the seat further back for long legs. Means the back will probably sit a little higher as well. |

All that mod does is move seat back further forward over the squab. It shortens the squab but does not move the backrest back, once it hits the back panel it is as far as it will go. Ray TF 2884 |

Ok, they were added so they get welded up prior to plating. |

I think I have worked out why those holes were drilled. I have limited mobility in my right knee.In the TD if you move the seat squab back under the seat back it makes room between the seat and the door aperture. Unfortunately this is not possible on a TF so I have to Heave my size 11 foot in by hand. Ray TF 2884 |
