MG TD TF 1500 - Soft Top Reconditioning
The soft top on my TF is only three years old but was looking a little faded in places. I have just treated with a product called Renovo and the stuff is absolutely magic. It is simply painted onto a clean, dry hood and when it dries it looks better than new. A full five stars from me! Jan T |

Is this for canvas or vinyl? Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Could you please expand on what the changes were? Do you have any before and after pictures? Thanks Joe |

Joe, here's a YouTube video showing the Renovo product use and results. You'll probably have to copy and paste the link. Tim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01_0a1tQY9k |

Hi Bill, The soft top is made from something called Mohair. I thought this was material used to make mens' suits but I haven't worn one for the last five years since I retired (thank the lord). The problem with my hood was bird s***T which even after washing off left white patches. After the Renovo treatment the hood is a nice Matt black all over. Cheers Jan |

Not mohair at all, but a synthetic fibre like polyester. Dave H |

Hi Dave, Don't know if you are referring to the hood or my best suit but the hood I bought came from Don Trimming and was one of their Delux Mohair Canvavas ones. I could remember them advertising in the Practical Motorist magazine when I was a boy in the 1960s and the one they sold me maybe polyester but it is excellent and was cheaper than ones from T Series spares suppliers. Cheers Jan T |

Yes, mine came from Don as well - their mohair hoods, etc., are made from top grade material (fairly sure its polyester fibre). The only negative I would say is the number of fittings provided was the minimum, and next to no installation instructions (though I used Schach as my guide). Dave H |
