MG TD TF 1500 - Spare Wheel Knockoff
Are the TD and TF spare wire wheel knockoffs the same? I don't need one but a friend does. PJ He is restoring a Victor and the spare mount looks the same as a TF but missing the knockoff. |

The TD did not come with wire wheels so it's anybodies guess as to what is used to keep the wheel in place. More often that not a wire wheel hub is bolted onto the steel wheel rack and an ordinary knock off is used to hold it in place. The Victor may use the TF style. If it has internal threads then thats probably what it is. If they are external then it's probably a wheel hub and he would need the correct thread and handing. |

Thanks LaVerne, I'll ask him for more detail. PJ |

Paul If it helps. This is my TD rear wheel carrier Not sure where it came from as it was in the bits I got when buying the car back in 1970. It looks like a regular TF spare wheel knock on to retain the wheel. Rod ![]() |

I just found out that my friends Victor takes a spare wheel knockoff with a 1/4 inch larger shaft than the TF. TF is 1.5 inches a Victor is 1.75. He might have some machine work done making a reducing collar to fit the TF knockoff. PJ |

Rod that set up is from a TC. The TF is a little different
