MG TD TF 1500 - speedo gear pinion housing

Hi everybody,
Is it possible to take it off without draining the oil from the gearbox ?

Yes - it is above the level of any oil in that area. Cheers - Dave

that place is very tight.

Did it work? Do you have any hints for followers? I guess it's one of my next jobs to seal this housing.

I did not dismalntle it yet. My question was only to prepare the FTFU mod for next winter !
However,waiting for winter, I tried another very simple solution. But I don't know yet the results. See picture.A rubber disc with just a pin hole at the center.

I'll tell you the results after my next drive.

This morning, I drove 12 miles.
Not a drop of oil.
It is certainly not perfect but it is really better than before.A so cheap and easy improvement.
