MG TD TF 1500 - Spiral-grooved pedal shaft
Seems to me I saw an advert for a spiral-grooved pedal shaft. Can someone help me with this one? Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Gord, I just made my own. It's a crappy job and I did not want to do it again. Mine is RHD but you can do it to LHD also. Shaft does not rotate in the chassis So just drilled the center. Access the Zirk from outside under wing. So far it works really good. Soaked bushings in hot oil before assembly and give it a squirt of grease every spring. Rod ![]() ![]() |

See http://www.ttalk.info/PedalShaftDelk.htm for LHD. Bud |

I haven't seen any modified ones offered for sale Gord. What I have done on the last couple I installed was drill the two openings on through the shaft as well as add another for the inner frame bushing which for some reason they aren't drilled at all. I use a cut off wheel and a die grinder to make some crude "X" slots to encourage spreading of the grease a bit. These two photos show what you get if you buy a new one. ![]() ![]() |

These two show what I did...for better or worse.

I modified my almost the exact same way LaVerne, but added Moly grease. Still working. But that woodruff key .... UGH !!! Gord Clkark Rockburn, Qué. |
