MG TD TF 1500 - spring clips/clutch installation

Two hours trying to remember how the clutch release bearing retainer clips go on! There is a short end and a longer one. I think the short one goes in the hole on the side of the fork. Does the long one go towards the front in that little ridge or on top in the circular detent (not shown below). Or do I have it all wrong?
In either case, I cannot get the clip to snap into place. What's the trick?
Thanks,
Ed

Can this be helpful?

It might be Bela, but there is nothing showing??

Ed.
that looks OK.
The straight leg goes in the drilling in the thrust and the kink into the recess in the clutch arm.

may be the show will start yet

Bela

Bela, I think you're showing me the pressure plate assembly. I'm talking about the release bearing assembly in the bell.
Here is how I'm leaving it (below). They look a little too far out but the "v" shaped part of the spring is indeed inside the circular divot on top of the fork.

You have them in correctly Ed.

See my website under clutch. Note the curved pin must ride on the back of the bracket, as you show them.

Good work,

I wanted to show the blue detail which shows the spring - but it seems all is okay.

Bela

Bela, I didn't see the forest for the trees. Got it. Thanks.
