MG TD TF 1500 - Stay fast vs duck canvas top

Hello, I am writing to solicit opinions between stayfast top material and the duck canvas. My car is a 20 footer which my normal philosophy is anything I do to the car takes it closer to factory correct rather than further from it. I went through the car mechanically nose to tail so I drive it all over the country without spares (between FedEx and Amazon prime why should I haul stuff..plus I am retired from the Airline and can fly home in shame if I need to)
Any thoughts would be well received

Think of duck like old canvas tent material. It’ll keep you dry if you don’t touch it. Duck will fade quickly and isn’t as durable Stayfast. Duck I believe is also more expensive than Stayfast. Unless your shooting for points at a concours event leave the duck for the trailer queens.

Tom, Bill and I had this conversation yesterday. I was shooting for a very correct TD in this restoration. Not necessarily a concourse car. I looked at the issue of stayfast vs canvas.

I went with stayfast because of other threads I read about canvas. As bill pointed out it fades very quickly. I understand there are some treatments that can reduce the fade, but it still does not seem to last as long.

Might not be your color, but this Stayfast top is coming up on 10 years. It is still bow string tight as when I installed it. It's pretty heavy material also. PJ

Bruce, thank you for the tip. I’ve had my car for 30 years and never ordered from them. However, with the current exchange rate and sale, plus shipping LBC will be much less expensive on this one.
