MG TD TF 1500 - Steering Thrust Bearings

Another picture I thought I took.....There are two on the lower end of the steering column. Which way are they oriented on the column...cupped side down or cupped side up? Or?

the chamfered face goes towards the teeth (pinion)
where the pinion is machined there is a slight radius and would bind the other way round.
