MG TD TF 1500 - Storage
Three cars in a two car garage. TD is on the lift. ![]() |

How about 3 cars in a 1 car garage. I have increased that to 4 cars now with the addition of a TR3. Opened up the back wall and put a overhead door in. Now one car goes into the shop, on the back side of garage. Gary ![]() |

Guys, cant you get those oil seals fixed? Why aren't they leaking? Matthew. |

Like this? Another car to the right, out of the picture. ![]() |

MG sideways at the rear wall of the 2-car garage, leaving room for 2 cars in front at normal orientation.Fairly short ones, though (Suzuki Vitara and Mini Countryman). The cardboard for the oil is not yet put in place, but needed ;-) Rgds, MIke ![]() |

Mort, we know one thing, the car below the TD will never rust what with the constant oil bath from above. :-) Tim TD12524 |

Yep, 2014. I really miss that easy 2 hour drive to Steve's British-By-The-Sea and those lobster rolls. Among other things it gave me a chance to check out Mort's latest addition to Mobius. Bud |
Bud Krueger |
Tim, As Bud implied my TD does not leak. In the spring we went to Europe for a month and I wanted all the cars out of the driveway. When we returned there was not a drop on my wife's white Prius. Bud, See my latest modification on the post about clear side screens. Mort |

Is this a standard garage door? Did it have to be converted to high lift on the door? |
S Griffin |
Simon,
If you look carefully at the photo, on the left side you can see the height of the original track. The door opened with a standard link chain with the motor centered between the two tracks and suspended from the ceiling. Both the track and the motor were an interference for the lift. On the right you can see where I had to track extended closed to the ceiling. The lift motor is in the upper right corner of the garage in the picture and operates a torsion bar which in turn has pulleys that operate cables attached to the bottom of the garage door. There were no modifications to the garage door itself. Mort ![]() |

Thank you Mort, that tells me all I need to know. I have a 3 car garage, and my wife has stated, quite forcibly that she does not care how many cars I have as long as she does not have to park outside! Quite unreasonable I think :-) It only dips below 0 degrees F a few times in the winter and above 100 on the odd day in the summer! (Central Illinois). So I am faced with my MGB, TD and the soon to return Austin Healey 100 having to share the remaining 2 spaces. (My day car a 2007 BMW M6 has no hope of getting inside). A lift is in my near future so will get the garage door taken care of in due course.

Simon, Of the various configurations I selected a single post list. I love it. Mort ![]() |

Mort, that looks great! What brand did you go with? |
S Griffin |
I have sent Simon an email with all of the details for the lift. If anyone else is interested send me your email address. Mort |
