MG TD TF 1500 - TD 1250 nearly completed
Owners son drove it to the Glenwood Springs Rallye where it received the Best MG Award, Shown here with the owner and her family. She got her first ride in the car since 1961. It was very heart warming moment for me.

I posted this photo on the Rocky Mountain MG Club face book page noting that it was the winner of the best MG at the show. Got some laughs there, but it's what we started with a few years ago.
The family brought her over from the Denver area and rented an Air B&B without telling here the real reason. Here is a short video of her reaction to seeing the car. For those that didn't hear the story, they lived in Michigan and her husband took the car apart in 1962. They then moved to the Denver area along with the car but. Her husband died about 12 years ago and they asked me to assemble the car for them. It started out with just put it together. I was told everything was ready to assemble. Hmm. Big chunks of paint missing, some rust through in the tub panels, wood missing. Ya right. Anyway I discovered that the original paint was two tone metallic and told the son that it was pretty rare and that it deserved to be restored as original and we did our best to meet that goal. I had a couple of knowledgeable old MG experts tell me at the show that MG never made a tu tone MG. All I can say to them was it was what the evidence provided. Same goes for a few chrome bits not normally found on TD's. This video made all the work worth it for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKvS5j4B3n4&t=35s you may have to cut and paste to see it. ![]() |

You might notice the top fit is not good. We discovered it was a 3 bow top sent to us as a 2 bow top. We have another in a box that hopefully is correct and will put it on later along with a full tonneau. And thanks for all of the kind words guys. Much appreciated. |

Congrats. LaVerne for a great job on the restoration of the TD. It takes a fair deal of energy, resilience and an extensive skill set to achieve this result. Cheers Rob Grantham |

I know you put a heck of a lot of work in a car that is not yours, but what a great job. Well Done. |

LED: Was this a "frame-off" restoration? Looks pretty pristine if I do say so myself. Lot of time and effort regardless! |
