MG TD TF 1500 - TD diff change

Dear all, is a MGA diff interchangeable with a TD one please? I am sure that I have read of this in the past. The reason I ask is that I have an excellent A 4:3 diff doing nothing so the raw material is available. Regards, Peter.

What you are thinking of is the swap of the ring and pinion of the 4.3 for the stock internals on your TD. The entire MGA diff is interchangeable, but then you are stuck using MGA wheels...

Look in the archives; search under 4.3 or Cederstrand (the author of the best book). There is also a good deal on the web.
