MG TD TF 1500 - TD front inner bearing removal
Hi, I have removed the front brake drum/hub on my TD but the inner bearing is well and truly stuck on the stub axle. I can't move it with my bearing puller - a universal 6" type of thing. Does anyone have any advice or can anyone recommend a particular make/type of puller to use? Many Thanks Pete |

Wearing safety goggles, take a sharp steel chisel, align at a 45 degree angle to the edge and smartly whack it to crack the outer race. Then take that off and do the same with the inner. It may really explode when it comes off so be careful. George |

If you do not have a bearing puller that will fit, use a pair of crow bars to lever it off. If you destroy the seal your bearing puller may fit. While you have it off renew the bearings/seals as they are moderately cheap. I use Simply bearings (no connection just a customer) Ray TF2884 |

Here's a photo my mate took on replacing front wheel bearings. Regards Declan ![]() |

Many thanks for the suggestions, hopefully one of them will do the trick! |

I used a propane torch with a fine tip on mine. Just heat the bottom edge of the bearing and it will pull off. |
