MG TD TF 1500 - TD Light / Ignition Switch
I know this has been raised before but I haven't been able to find anything in the archives. Does anyone know where I can get an exploded diagram of a TD lights/Ignition switch. I am attempting to restore one that has been previously opened up and I suspect parts are missing. Jan T |

No diagram but a good discussion and pictures: http://www2.mg-cars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&access=&mode=archiveth&subject=8&subjectar=8&thread=2014073012361613440 I'm in the process of using that thread to rebuild mine. Tim TD12524 |

Yes Jan. I have written a document on the restoration of the Lucas PLC 6 with a detailed pic identifying all of the components. It also describes how to reassemble the switch. If you're interested I can email you a copy. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

Has anyone a similar description for the horn switch? |

I didn't bother writing one as I found it really straightforward. The wiring is as per the diagram, the Bakelite buffs nicely & the metal parts are repainted in gloss black. I initially used satin black but felt it needed gloss. However the circlip removal & replacement WAS an issue. I used one with eyes which I had to modify by grinding down the shoulder so I could get it to fit. I also found I then had to grind a couple of points onto my circlip pliers to fit the circlip.
