MG TD TF 1500 - TD Oil Gauge Coupling Location

I am trying to identify the car number where the oil pressure gauge coupling was moved from the battery box to the firewall.

Its probably somewhere around (e)9408 when the flexible tube was moved down to the block from the head but I don't know for sure.

If you have a car near that engine number please post if your coupling is mounted on the battery box or the firewall.

My car with engine 9342 has the connection fitting on the firewall below the battery box. the other end was originally at the head but has since been moved.

Thanks John. Anyone want to go lower than e9342?
Christopher Couper

I always was under the impression that the reason it was lowered was to allow the hose to reach the lower end of the head oiling tube. I don't believe they changed hoses when they made the move.
Bruce Cunha

Well if that was the case then we should find that it does match (e)9408.

I looked at the parts book and only saw one hose, but then I also only saw one part number from the block to head line too, which we know changed.
Christopher Couper

I assume you mean car number not engine number? This is 8732. Engine number is 9228. Hope this helps a little?

Rich King TD 8732
