MG TD TF 1500 - TD Radiato Shell Originally
Do TD Radiator Shells have a ' full circle' for the crank handle to enter ? I think TCs have an 'open' circle for the crank handle i.e..the bottom aspect of the shell's hole in this area is cut out. This seems to be a weakness in the shell's structure. Comments would be appreciated. Rob Grantham |

Rob, is this the area you're asking about? Jud ![]() |

I believe the very early TD's used carry over shells from the TC and at some point the TD received the redesigned shell with the full circle opening. This is the shell that came with TD 1250.

Great photos by all. Appreciated. I suspect also that TD radiator shells had the bonnet rest plinth in a swaged 'crinkle cut' form whereas the TCs had a smooth only bonnet rest plinth ? Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719(("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

TC has open hole and yes it has a crinkled edge at the rear. |

Interesting that LaVern's is newer than the one Chris posted (1250 VS 1172) but has a different grill. |

Interesting Steve S., I always thought it was the original TD Shell bonnet rest flange on the shell which had the 'crinkle' form rather than the TC ! Cheers Rob Grantham |
