MG TD TF 1500 - TD/TF Exhaust Pipe Clamps- Frank C.
Hi All, Some time ago Frank Cronin mentioned that he used a new designed type of clamp for joining the exhaust pipes on his newly rebuilt TF. The new design was neater compared to the U bolt/not arrangement generally supplied by the MG retailers. Does anyone know who supplies the new type of clamps? (I think the supplier was located in the USA). Cheers Rob Grantham |

Rob You can get the T bolt clamps like Peter and Bill are using from Repco or Blackwoods etc. but the unit in Peter's pic looks a bit lightweight for an exhaust clamp, more like a hose clamp What you need are called exhaust band clamps You can get them from motorcycle shops like- https://www.mxstore.com.au/search/?q=stainless%20exhaust%20clamps Cheers willy |

I used a band clamp. Various companies make them. You can position the clamp to give it a nice clean look and is not ugly like a U bolt clamp and won't distort the pipe if you have to disassemble. https://youtu.be/UB8tXN9Uo8Y Frank TF1414 ![]() |
