MG TD TF 1500 - TD Website
I was offline for a month or so but everything should be back up and running again. www.mgtd.co.nr enjoy! :) |

Thanks! I've added it to my MG resources favorite list and will be perusing it. A lot of work and a source of help for many! |

Rich, I'm sure you've been asked this before but why do you list the car as a 1952. My car TD12524 was built in 1951. Just curious. Excellent website BTW. Tim |

This has been brought up before, some cars were registered in the year they were sold. |
TRM Maine |
TRM, that makes sense. But you don't order parts or have certain features or accessories based on when a car was registered. But, then again, not much difference between a 51 and a 52. Tim |

Tim, M.G. did not have model years during the period in which our cars were made. Many changes were made during the production run. Yes, you probably want to have an idea of when your car was made. Lists are available showing what changes were made when. The NEMGTR Restoration Handbook is an excellent source of this information. Bud |

Yes, technically my car is a 1951. It was indeed registered in 1952. The most notable difference between the 51 and 52 is the gauges. I have the early TC style flat gauges. The 1952 had the dished gauges. Rich |

Also, sometime during 1952, the TD2 was introduced with an 8" clutch. George |

The 8" clutch was introduced engine #9408, likely in July '51. There are a lot of lists out there showing production changes by car number. The NEMGTR CD has them as well. George |

My 51 (born 12/51) has the dished gauges. It also has the 8" clutch. Registered as a 51. Tim TD12524 |
