MG TD TF 1500 - TD wheel arch
Where and how is the wheel arch trim tacking strip fitted. I am working on a new tub with no reference. Does anybody have photos?. On the home run now and should not have to bother the members for much longer. I never realised how many differences between the TF and TD. Simple things like fit the bonnet lock catches and buffers BEFORE you fit the wings. Ray TF 2884 |

I picked up on that early and it saved me from pulling the car apart for the umpteenth time! I've had this car apart and back together so many times, I thought I might be wearing the bolts out! Done a few cars in my day, but one TF is enough. Grin. PJ![]() |

Ray Here are pictures of mine prior to removing them. I will be replacing the wood when I put it back. There should be three horizontal holes that three split rivets go in on the fender well to secure the strip. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Bruce, that is exactly what I needed. The new tub is short of holes and in some places some are not quite where they should be. Ray TF2884 |

Ray, you can fit the TF rear catches after the wings are installed - but not the front! Ask me how I know! |

Havng had the TF for 46 years I have found all the things I can put on in thr wrong order or wrong way round. The TD I am helping to get back on the road after 40+ years is a whole new learning curve. We are now going to have to pause until we are advised when it is safe to mix with other people. I am 80 and fit but not taking any chances. Ray TF2884 |
