MG TD TF 1500 - TD & TF Original Water Pump Pics

I'm keen to get hold of as many pics as I can of the internals of both the original TD & TF water pumps. I bought an original early pump in pieces today & I'd like to know exactly what is what. I have the WSM & all the available exploded parts diagrams but I'm still not sure if the one I have is the TC/TD or the later TF. The telltale item would of course be the seal which is one of the missing bits. The impellers differ also but the detail in the drawings isn't clear enough for me to make a positive I.D. What would be perfect would be a pic showing all of the components laid out in sequence for both of the original types. TYIA. Cheers

I have some coming from Butch however I'd like as many as I can get my hands on. You can never have too much of a good thing! :-) Cheers

Peter, I have one picture that may be of interest to you. Disregard all the miscellaneous junk in the background.

Thanks Jim. This is very helpful as it's obviously the (later) TF pump with the casting number on the flange. This is the one I have. D.4 in the WSM shows a breakdown of the (earlier) TC/TD pump which differs somewhat. The Anglo parts breakdown illustrates the difference, but not in enough detail to identify the washers lying in the box. If someone can answer the questions below it would be a huge help.

Working from the left, is the first item the felt seal or a large washer or are they both stuck together? We then have the easily identifiable circlip, bearing, circlip, distance tube, bearing, then the centre washer. Is this flat or dished somewhat? Then the felt seal followed by another washer. Is this flat? Then a small circlip, (there was a mangled one in the box) & finally the integral seal. For now I'd just like the detail on the washers if possible please. I hope to replace the missing flat washers with something from the local hardware if I can't source any originals. Cheers

Peter
Why not wait until you come over for I have all of the parts laid out on the bench in sequential order.

OK John. I'll bring the seals & the box of bits & we'll go from there. Cheers

Peter, the picture was taken many years ago but I believe that there was a metal washer stuck to the rear side of the felt dust seal which was toward the front. The metal washer was aft of the dust seal.
The center washer was a dished type. I think that the outside diameter was positioned next to the felt seal for its support. The inner part of the washer was next to the inner portion of the bearing.
I think the last washer was flat.
Unfortunately, I have been selling all my old spare parts and I no longer have any of the pump parts here to provide positive information. I hope some of my thoughts helps you.

Much appreciated Jim. Cheers

The following pic shows the internals of an original TC early TD pump in the sequence that they were removed. The taper pin is at top left & part of it is shown below after drilling it out. The mating part of the carbon ring seal is still pressed into the body of the pump & is not shown. The outer felt seal is also not shown as it's still stuck to the pulley. The bearing on the right had melted internally. The item third from the left is some sort of cover & forms part of the carbon ring seal. The two different shaped circlips are also curious. Cheers
