MG TD TF 1500 - TF Factory Show Cars

MG prepared a few early production cars for display at auto shows; the Guarantee Plate ledger shows these early TF cars designated as "Show" cars. Although it is not documented, it can be assumed that extra care went into their manufacture and finishing:

TF528 (red)
TF565 (green)
TF587 (Ivory)
TF588 (Ivory)
TF589 (Ivory)
TF600 (red)
TF601 (red)

This also serves as a reminder that cars went down the line in color batches.

I doubt that this was one of the cars in the auto show, but if it was ... I hope they cleaned the tires and wiped up the oil before showing it!

I agree - I doubt it was an Auto Show car, with a luggage rack. But certainly a factory picture, used in advertizing.

There's always the photograph of the wonderful American auto show TD, with chrome wheels and trim rings, for $2115. Also not a factory show car!

This I have labeled as "1952 Paris Auto Show".

I like it because it shows WIDE WHITEWALLS on an MG.

I still did not have guts enough to do that to mine.
