MG TD TF 1500 - TF Front Bumper Guard

I think this has been posted before, it's from a 1976 Colombo TV movie. Look at the bumper guard and tell me if you ever saw one. Every once in a while an odd accessory pops up like this. This is the only one I've seen, anyone else? PJ

Never seen one before. He must have also decided the starting handle was redundant.

Nope....never saw one. Never saw a TF/TD Bumper without the (Overiders,Bumperettes,Bumper Guards) either. I did see an oddball one on an A that looked similar. I suspected it was a 'one of'....which this may be also.

I wonder if Victor made a guard like this as an accessory for their cars? Victor did have some different attachments. PJ

Never seen one of those.
Speculation: Somebody had a vast collection of Badges, but the tv producer decided "we don't need no stinking badges"?

I think the entire car is a Kit Car, and not a true MG-TF...!

Windshield & seats seem odd for a TF.

Maybe the whole car is a VW.....masked as a TF...?

Re the number plate, I shifted mine up there. If you need to get the crank in (only for timing, of course) you only have to drop one screw and swing it down.

I had a fairly rare set of Amco bars that came with my TD but they went to live with a nice MKII as they wouldn't work with the fog lights and the luggage rack.
