MG TD TF 1500 - TF hardened exhaust valve seat
Would anyone know wher one can purchase TF 34mm exhaust vales with a hardened seat. Moss Motors have tungsten valves but they are only on the end of the stem and not on the seating. Thanks. |

I got my set of The larger TF valves from britishclassicspareparts.com.au on the Sunshine Coast I dont know if he has the seats as the machine shop I used supplied and fitted them. You can email Keven at classicsportscarcentre@gmail.com Chris |

Have you considered stainless valves You can get straight 214N stainless or with hard stellite tips The straight stainless are fine-had no trouble with them |

Many thanks William and Chris for your input much appreciated. Your suggestions can now take this further. John |

I stock 35 & 37 MM stainless valves with hardened tips, swirl polished, state of the art valves that flow better that any T type replacement valves.
An added plus is that due to the larger diameter of my valves valve seat inserts will not be needed due to valve recession. ( they can and do fall out & can crack a cylinder head during installation). 30 degree or 45 degree valve seat angle. 45 degree valves flow better when using higher lift cams and roller cams. That hi flow on the left Len, is that an inlet and an MG exhaust on the right---? Just curious ,the ss exhausts I get are a lot fatter on the backside than that-even fuller than that MG valve As I said, just curious |

Len, I have been doing that for years, except I blend the back of the valves right down to the seat contact ring. ![]() |

Ahh show and tell-I like seeing what others are doing These are the stainless valves I get here Notice how full the rear of the head of the exhaust valve is to promote good flow out the port This is how they come ,then I polish the inlet up same as the exh. ![]() |

William, both are exhaust valves. My Intake and exhaust valves both have undercut stems in the valve head area. They also have chrome stems. These are the latest in the design of performance valves, not an 85 year old design polished up.Also when a 45 degree seat is ordered a 30 degree back cut can be done for even better flow. Almost no automotive engine valves have used 30 degree valve seat angles since the XPAG XPEG engines. Len Fanelli Abingdon Performance Ltd. |
